Healthy emotional and social development in the early years lays the foundation for mental health and resilience throughout life — and it starts at home. With home life and time spent as a family dramatically changing due to physical distancing and self-isolation, it’s more important now than ever to have conversations and share in activities at home.
WE Well-being (https://www.we.org/en-US/get-doing/activities-and-resources/wellbeing/we-well-being-playbook-and-resources/family/) is a program that empowers people of all ages with tools and resources to promote their own well-being and the well-being of their community. Developed in collaboration with leading mental health professionals and sponsored by we.org, a nonprofit group, it’s designed to focus on prevention to help build a foundation of understanding around mental well-being.
The site provides 10 downloadable resources to equip families with information and tools to support their well-being. The tools emphasize sleeping well, nutrition, managing emotions, dealing with failure, and building social connections through helping others, empathy, compassion, and more. The downloadable resources include activity cards, worksheets, shareable graphics, stories, and more.
